Last Friday evening, July 6th was the 3rd Issaquah Art Walk of the summer season. The sun came out and so did the crowds!
Downtown Issaquah’s flagship event, Art Walk entered its 11th year in 2012. Every first Friday of the month from May through September, the Issaquah Art Walk transforms downtown businesses into artists’ galleries for the night. From the time Art Walk started in 2002, the crowd has increased twelve-fold to about 2,000 people per event. In addition, the number of artists who participated has tripled.
This year, designers from Artitudes along with Artists from the ArtEAST art center and some creative souls came out to help paint new Art Walk sandwich board signs to place outside the growing number of participating venues. In addition there was chalk art on the street for the kids and a live wood turning demonstration. And of course great music and even a wine garden!
