Academy For Community Transition

At Artitudes, we believe in being involved with our community. One of the ways that we’re currently doing that is through Issaquah School District’s Academy for Community Transition (ACT), a truly inspirational program that deserves to be highlighted. ACT is organized by Tiger Mountain Community High School and assists students with developmental disabilities in moving towards independent lifestyles and gaining valuable vocational skills and experience. Students in their senior year design personalized schedules that focus on helpful living skills and complete internships in areas of interest.

ACT is a truly wonderful program and the vocational and functional skills that students gain are invaluable. For the last few weeks Artitudes has been host to our own ACT intern and we couldn’t be more pleased! He’s very interested in graphic design and has been working on several projects while we teach him more about the design industry. It’s a win for both of us!
